The gasoline anti-knock agent produced by our company, methylcyclopentadieny
l manganese tricarbonyl (MMT), is divided into three types according to product composition, purpose, and applicable environment: SD-98, SD-62, and SD-20. MMT decomposes into active manganese oxide particles under combustion conditions, disrupting the branching reaction of the chain before ignition. It interacts with the active center in the chain reaction, turning it into an oxidative intermediate with very low activity, resulting in a decrease in the concentration of peroxides in the pre flame reaction. The length and branching of the chain are reduced, selectively passivating some of the free radicals dispersed from organic peroxides, prolonging the induction period of ignition, and expanding the cold flame region, reducing the rate of energy release.
Due to the anti-explosion effect of MMT, which is based on its decomposition products, it can prevent the chain reaction process before fuel ignition. Therefore, the improvement of fuel blast resistance after adding MMT depends not only on the amount of MMT added, but also on the properties of the fuel and the operation of the engine.

Gasoline anti-knock agent (methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl) is a toxic and flammable chemical. It should not be mixed with food, seeds, or feed during storage and transportation to avoid contact with the human body. MMT is prone to decomposition under light, so it should be stored and transported in a dark place with good ventilation. Sampling must be done using brown bottles or small iron cans. Store in a cool, dry, and well ventilated place, avoid extremely high temperatures, keep away from sources of fire, and close the container when not in use.
